
Abiy Ahmed, the prime minister of the FDRE, invited Antonio Guterres, the UN secretary general, and Moussa Faki Mahamat, the chair of the African Union Commission, to talk in his office on Thursday morning.
On social media, Prime Minister Abiy said that his talks with both of the above-mentioned officials went well.
The premier affirmed that a number of topics were discussed.
PM Abiy also stated his desire to strengthen ties with the two major continental and international organizations.
“I extend a hearty welcome to UNSG Antonio Guterres in Ethiopia. AUC Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat joined us, and we talked about a wide range of topics in a deep way. “Our collaboration will be strengthened, and I look forward to that,” said PM Abiy on Twitter.
The AUC Chairperson stated on Twitter that Antonio Guterres arrived in Addis Abeba for the 6th AU-UN annual conference to assess progress and determine ways to further expand the strategic institutional collaboration between our two organizations in important peace and development sectors.
