We did not leave the house for 16 years

When a new individual arrived, we would flee. For 16 years, we didn’t leave the house. The credit must go to the interesting musical genius for wandering through the memory stream to disclose pioneering musical scenes from the Ethiopian music scene of the 1960s.

In retrospect, the 1960s were the strongest decade for establishing Ethiopian music as a distinct and prominent genre. An age in which the profound features of old sounds were exploited and integrated with current sounds to create good musical sets. The glamor in local music was fueled by the triumphant age, the period of experimental recapitulation on other continents.

Where progressive music, ranging from jazz to blues and beyond funky rock, could be heard on other countries’ stations.
