Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) senior leader Abdi Regassa has been arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location, according to his lawyer, Tuli Baisa.
Abdi was detained for more than a year, and a court ruled that he should be acquitted.
Abdi, who was released from Dalete Prison in the Sebeta town of the Special Zone around Finfine, was arrested by security forces along with his friend and OLF leader Jebesa Gebisa about a kilometer away.
Security forces later released Jebesa Gebisa, but his lawyer said they had taken Abdi Regassa, who was released by a court, to an unknown location.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
In a statement to OMN, his lawyer said such an act was “dangerous and unhelpful to the country, the government, and the people.”
